Viy 3D is a 2014 fantasy film based on the Nikolai Gogol story of the same name. It was produced by Russian and Ukraine Film Group and Marins Group Entertainment. The film was released in 2014 in Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan, and in the United States and the United Kingdom in 2015. Directed by Oleg Stepchenko, the film is loosely based on the first manuscript of Nikolai Gogol. Despite facing funding issues during production, Viy was a huge commercial success.
