Gate 7 is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the manga artist group Clamp. It follows the story of Chikahito Takamoto, a secondary school student who visits Kyoto and meets a childlike warrior named Hana. Hana, along with two young men named Tachibana and Sakura, fight supernatural enemies as members of the Urashichiken Hanamachi, a secret society dedicated to battling otherworldly creatures in Kyoto. The battles are rooted in the Sengoku era of Japan, where warlords formed blood contracts with powerful spiritual beings known as Oni. Gate 7 debuted as a one-shot in 2010 and later became a serialized manga. It received mixed reception, with praise for its art style but criticism for its reliance on Japanese historical knowledge.
