Fist of the North Star is a Japanese manga series written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1983 to 1988. The story is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth and follows Kenshiro, a warrior trained in the deadly martial art of Hokuto Shinken. Kenshiro has the ability to kill his opponents by striking their secret vital points, resulting in violent and gory deaths. The manga combines action, violence, and a dystopian setting.
