Bokurano: Ours is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mohiro Kitoh. It follows a group of middle-school students who are tasked with piloting a giant mecha in battles to save the Earth. As they continue to fight, they discover the high stakes and the cost of each victory. The series was adapted into an anime and received critical acclaim. Bokurano explores themes of sacrifice, mortality, and the consequences of power. The manga had over 1 million copies in circulation by November 2009 and received the Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival in 2010.
