Blame! is a Japanese science fiction manga series written and illustrated by Tsutomu Nihei. It is set in a gigantic megastructure called 'The City' that occupies much of the Solar System. The City is made up of layered Dyson spheres and is largely devoid of life. The protagonist, Killy, is searching for Net Terminal Genes, which allow humans to access the 'Netsphere', a computerized control network for The City. Along his journey, Killy meets various characters and faces challenges from hostile cyborgs and Silicon Life. Blame! was serialized from 1997 to 2003 and was later licensed for U.S. distribution. It has since become a cult favorite among fans of Nihei's unique and convoluted cyberpunk storytelling.
