Angel Heart is a manga series written and illustrated by Tsukasa Hojo. It was published in the Weekly Comic Bunch from 2001 to 2010. The manga was then renewed in Monthly Comic Zenon under the title of Angel Heart: 2nd Season from 2010 to 2017. The story takes place in a parallel universe and follows the protagonist Glass Heart, an assassin who receives a heart transplant from Kaori Makimura, the wife of the 'City Hunter' Ryo Saeba. Glass Heart wakes up from a year-long coma and seeks to learn about her new heart and the people connected to it. She eventually finds Ryo, who decides to adopt her as his daughter. The series explores their journey to lead a normal life together. Angel Heart was also adapted into an animated television series and a live-action TV drama. It has sold 25 million copies.
