After School Nightmare is a Japanese shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Setona Mizushiro. It follows the story of Mashiro Ichijo, an intersex high school student who is forced to work out their gender identity in a collective dream. The manga explores Mashiro's romantic relationships with two classmates, one female and one male. The story is filled with mystery and competition as the students must find a key in their dreams in order to graduate. The series tackles themes of gender identity and romance. After School Nightmare was serialized from 2004 to 2007 in the manga magazine Princess and has been well-received by readers. It has been licensed in North America and other countries, and was nominated for an Eisner Award.
